The ability to transmit, absorb, or reflect light is a characteristic that makes glass very appealing by stirring the imagination of the viewer in a unique way. Light is one of the most universal and fundamental symbols. It serves as a symbol of life, happiness and prosperity and an ancient symbol of understanding and intellectual thought.
Sunlight has all the colors of the rainbow. When it shines through colored glass, it filters out everything except its own color - red glass only passes red light, green glass only passes green light. The juxtaposition of shape, color and form are enhanced by the relationship of light and the colored glass. Through Colored Glass is a collection with varying levels of translucency that evokes an emotional response and plays a role in the storytelling.
